Parthe Bhaskar ( born 20 June 1974 ), is an Indian Film Maker and Indian Film Lyricist in Tamil Cinema. After Completing his high school education ( St. John's - Mandaveli and St. Patrick's - Adyar ) , he began to work as an Assistant Cameraman to Indian Cinematographer Jayanan Vincent, in various Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films.
He started his career as an Ad Film Maker, and entered into the Tamil Film Industry. He first started working as a TV series Director and also started working as a Tamil Lyricist.
He made his debut as Film Director in the movie " Bambhara kannaley" starring Srikanth, Arthi Agarwal, Namitha and Vadivelu. The movie was produced by Senthil-Ganesh under ANNAMALAI FILM'S production company.
And he further directed " Arjunan Kadhali" starring Jai, Poorna, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan and Thambi Ramaiah. The movie was produced by Sivasakthi Pandian under SS MOVIE MAKER'S production company.
His father R.D.Bhaskar ( 1940-1996 ) well known Film Producer, who produced number of commercial successful films including "RAJADHI RAJA[1]" starring Rajinikanth and Radha. "SINGARAVELAN[2]" starring Kamal Hassan and Khushboo and many more film's under the film production company " PAVALAR CREATIONS". Parthe Bhaskar, the SOLE PROPRIETOR of the company since 1996 after his father demise, registered under TAMILNADU FILM PRODUCERS COUNCIL ( TFPC ).
R D Bhaskar, elder brother of Ilayaraja ( Indian Film Composer ) and Gangai Amaran ( Indian Film Composer and Indian Film Maker ). R.D.Bhaskar is also younger brother of PAVALAR Varadharajan ( Communist activists, writer, stage performer, lyricist and stage singer )
Bhaskar's younger sister Vasuki Bhaskar is also well known Costume Designer and younger brother Hari Bhaskar an Actor.
Early life and career[edit]
After finishing high school, Parthe Bhaskar began to pen Short stories for Magazines. During holidays he started writing dummy lyrics for Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja, which was sung by Venkat Prabhu and Bhavatharini . Parthe has had a passion for Photography since childhood. He captured abstract pictures, expressions and moments of different people's lived in villages and cities while traveling. He learnt the nuances of the art through books and friends. The abstract photos taken by Parthe was published in various magazines. His paternal uncle Ilayaraja appreciated parthe's work at his school days, and made him join Indian Cinematographer Jayanan Vincent at his young age. Jayanan Vincent was very impressed by parthe's photo's, visuals and idea's. Even though Parthe was very much interested in writing and directing, he worked for Indian Cinematographer Jayanan Vincent as an Assistant Cameraman in all regional movies. Muthu Kaalai ( Tamil ), Poovarasan ( Tamil ), Sainyam ( Malayalam ), Ravan Raaj ( Hindi ), and Telugu movie 2nd unit . He also worked for Jayanan Vincent, younger brother Ajayan Vincent for the movie Ratchagan ( Tamil ) in the first schedule in Mahabalipuram. The following 2nd Schedule, Parthe entered into TV Media, so he could not continue working as an Assistant Cameraman. He Directed and did Cinematography for TV series " Love Bird's " produced by GOLDEN EAGLE CHANNEL ( GEC ) the chance given by Gangai Amaren. Parthe started to write lyrics for AD Jingles and Movies. Later went on to work on Additional Screenplay Writing and Story discussion for many Director's and friends. During one story discussion he met Director Vincent Selva and worked as Associate Director for the movie " Kichavin Kadhal "( unreleased ) starring Richard Rishi and Rekha. Produced by Ramoji Film City. Songs from the Movies like Alexander, Manikkam, Ullasam, became super chartbuster hits and Parthe continued writing lyrics for Karthik Raja. He also wrote lyrics for Yuvan Shankar Raja, Srikanth Deva, Premji Amaren. Parthe wrote many Independent album and devotional songs for other music directors. Parthe Bhaskar was nominated for best lyricist for the movie Chennai 600028 part2 for the song " Idhu kadhaiya kavithaiya". He wrote lyrics for Venkat Prabhu's movie Party " Cha Cha Charey " song sung by Actor Suriya, Karthi and Venkat Prabhu.
In 2005, Parthe Bhaskar Directed his first movie " Bambhara kannaley " produced by Senthil-Ganesh starring Srikanth, Arthi Agarwal, Namitha and Vadivelu. He also Directed
" Arjunan Kadhali " ( unreleased movie ) produced by Sivasakthi Pandian starring Jai, Poorna, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan and Thambi Ramaiah.
Personal life[edit]
Parthe Bhaskar is the son of Film Producer R.D.Bhaskar ( PAVALAR CREATIONS).
Parthe is elder brother of Vasuki Bhaskar ( Costume Designer ) and Hari Bhaskar ( Actor ).
His paternal uncle is the Indian Music Composer Ilayaraja and Gangai Amaren. His cousins are Karthik Raja, Bhavatharini, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Venkat Prabhu and Premji Amaren. Parthe did his high school at St John's ( Mandaveli ) and St Patrick's ( Adyar ). Parthe Bhaskar married in the year 1999 to Sangeetha, daughter of Music Director Deva and his brother-in-law is Srikanth Deva.
Parthe has a daughter named Laya Varshini and a son Aanjan Rishi.
